Fear 3 is a first-person-shooter that features very dark and disturbing environments. The game's story is modeled after horror films including moments that are meant to make you jump. The game also features very grotesque creatures, and supernatural elements such as ghosts.
In addition to single player, the game also features online multiplayer in which headsets can be used to communicate with other players.
What Parents Need to Know
This is game is extremely graphic featuring tons of blood and gore. Bodies can be seen exploding and the humanoid creatures in the game will howl in pain.
Words such as "f--k," "s--t," "bitch," "hell" and "damn" are used commonly throughout the game. One of the multiplayer game modes is called "F--king Run."
A female character briefly shows her breasts, though the nipples cannot be seen.
I generally find games such as these disturbing and this game is no different. The constant dark environments, grotesque creatures, blood, and almost constant swearing leave a negative feeling upon me after playing. I would not suggest anyone under the recommended age playing it.
