Game Description:

Samba De Amigo is a music party game very similar in style to Dance Dance Revolution, but instead of dancing with your feet, you dance with your hands. This is done by holding two Wii-Motes (one in each hand) or a Wii-Mote and Nun-Chuk controller and moving them to the beat of the music as if you were holding two maracas. There are over 40 fun songs that come with the game and eventually there is supposed to be more songs that can be downloaded at a later date for a small fee if your Wii is connected to the internet.

Samba De Amigo also has different difficulty levels so that hardcore and casual gamers alike can enjoy Samba at their own level. My only complaint is that I felt the controls could have been a little tighter in some instances as the game would sometimes not register that I was moving in the direction I was actually moving in. Overall, however, I found Samba De Amigo to be a very enjoyable experience where everyone in the family can join in on the fun.

What Parents Need to Know

Violence

Not violent at all. Just shaking maracas to the music

Language

The only thing worth mentioning in this category is that one of the songs I noticed had mild seductive lyrics. It was from the song “Living La Vida Loca” where the lyrics say “She’ll make you take your clothes off and go dancing in the rain.”

Sexual Content

There is no inappropriate sexual content, but there is a character in the world of Samba De Amigo who is a butterfly who wears a bikini with hearts on her chest. She also likes to shake her behind when she dances.

Spiritual Content

There is not any spiritual content in Samba De Amigo.

A Child’s Perspective

Rebekah age 10 says Samba De Amigo is a really fun game and it makes her feel like she is a Spanish dancer when she plays it.

Reviewer's Thoughts

Samba De Amigo is a very fun game that everyone in the family can play together and have fun with. I would have no problem recommending this game to kids from age 5 to 105. If you have a Wii and you enjoy music games, or if you are just looking for another game the whole family can play together then look no further than Samba De Amigo.
